{"id":905,"date":"2010-02-22T13:38:57","date_gmt":"2010-02-22T11:38:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ofcourseimright.com\/?p=905"},"modified":"2010-02-22T13:44:11","modified_gmt":"2010-02-22T11:44:11","slug":"olympic-moment-the-womens-biathlon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofcourseimright.com\/?p=905","title":{"rendered":"Olympic moment: the Women&#8217;s Biathlon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 0pt none; margin: 4px;\" title=\"Magdelana Neuner (Getty Images)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ctvolympics.ca\/mm\/photo\/sports\/ctvo\/04\/86\/83\/48683_m15.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"173\" height=\"97\" \/>Last night we watched the Magdalena Neuner of Germany win the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouver2010.com\/olympic-biathlon\/schedule-and-results\/womens-12.5-km-mass-start_btw712101yi.html\">Women&#8217;s Biathlon<\/a> at the Vancouver games.\u00a0 I have only three questions about this event:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>With all of those guns, if someone is in front of you, can you shoot them to get ahead?\u00a0 After all, this is a competition?<\/li>\n<li>With all of those guns, where were all of the Americans?\u00a0 Not a single one apparently was in the final.\u00a0 In fact, it seems that this is a Russo-European race.\u00a0 Four continents went completely unrepresented.<\/li>\n<li>With all of those guns, where the heck was James Bond?\u00a0 I kept expecting to seem him cut across the track, while all the competitors from Eastern Europe started aiming at him.\u00a0 <strong>THAT<\/strong> would have been entertainment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>(I have no idea why we watched this particular event.\u00a0 We&#8217;d just finished watching <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1010048\/\">Slum Dog Millionaire<\/a> for the first time.\u00a0 That was good.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night we watched the Magdalena Neuner of Germany win the Women&#8217;s Biathlon at the Vancouver games.\u00a0 I have only three questions about this event: With all of those guns, if someone is in front of you, can you shoot them to get ahead?\u00a0 After all, this is a competition?
